
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones, February 13, 1942 - September 3 March 3, 2019), was an American actress. She is most well-known for her role in the films Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by her Irish mother and a New England father. Her career began as a child model prior to getting into acting. She won the Theatre World Award as "one of the most promising actors during 1956-57" for her performance in The Potting Shed. Lynley began her film career in 1958 by appearing in her debut in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. She was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). In 1959, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer Female. The following year she was again nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer Female.
