
Allison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November, 1959. [2] She is an American actor. It is well-known for her work across various genres on stage and screen in a career that spans three decades. Janney was awarded numerous awards, including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Her work also won seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney received nominations for the two Tony Awards. Her birthplace was in Boston and was raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney was awarded a scholarship to study in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after her graduation from Kenyon College. Following years of minor, uncredited film and television appearances, Janney's breakthrough came with the part of C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC the political show The West Wing (1999-2006) and for which she was awarded the award of four Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2014, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in the Drama Series for her role as Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex. She is most famous for her character Bonnie Plunkett.
